Quote of the Week

"A good reader is one who has imagination, memory, a dictionary, and some artistic sense."

  1. I like this quote. I've never seen the concept of "artistic sense" included, but the ability to create imagery in the mind and to take a "poetic" leap, is definitely requisite. I also like the idea of memory being a part of the definition- the memory of place, facts, characters, and emotional response build up the layers, so the reader fills in the gaps and creates the world of the story, without even realizing it.
